Chinese Coke Chicken Wings Recipe

Does your pantry seem depleted sometimes and it isn’t always easy to go to the store? Well I have the most simple recipe you can make at home with only 3 ingredients. That’s all you need to make this yummy, comforting, and satisfying meal. Coca cola chicken wings are a hong kong comfort food. It’s a quick and easy meal, but to be honest, I really crave it sometimes when I want a no fuss and minimal ingredient lunch. These are the best coca cola wings recipe. This dish can be made in 15 minutes or less and is a guaranteed winner!

Note: Instead of rock sugar to be used as a sweetener to balance out savory meals, coca cola is subbed in to give the chicken wings a unique sweet flavor. The simple combination of soy sauce and coke is all you need to make this delicious sauce. Hope you enjoy this dish!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of coke
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 pack of chicken wings
  • 1 tsp ginger (optional)
  • 1 tsp oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a pan up on medium heat. Once the pan is warm, add in 1 tsp of oil. When oil is warm, brown chicken wings on both sides for a few minutes. 
  2. After chicken is browned, pour in coke and 2 tbsp of soy sauce. Put a lid on the pan and let chicken cook for another 3-4 minutes. 
  3. Take off the lid and flip chicken wings. Use a spoon to baste chicken wings and continue to cook until sauce dilutes to a saucey consistency. 
  4. Serve chicken immediately. Enjoy!
